Clyde V. “Uncle Bud” Zunk, 81, of Oak Harbor died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his residence. He was born on June 26, 1934 in Clay Center, OH to George and Bessie (Amsler) Zunk. Clyde served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for 8 years. He worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for 19 years, earning The Safe Driver Award for achieving 17 years with a safe driving record. He also worked at Camp Perry as a security guard and for Priesman Printery in Oak Harbor for 11 years. Clyde was a member of the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church, Teamsters Local 20, Oak Harbor Masonic Lodge #495 F&AM, Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts, the Ottawa County Senior Advisory Board and sub-committee member, co-chair of the Oak Harbor Senior Committee, and was the 2006 Senior Hall of Fame Inductee. Clyde is survived by his sisters: Marilyn Michalak of Youngstown, OH and Christine Small, daughter: Valerie Zunk, several grandchildren, many nieces & nephews and fiancé: Carol Turner of Oak Harbor. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father: Clarence Dehn, son: Leslie Zunk, sisters: Marian Moomey, Vivian Perry, and Luella Collins, and brothers: Melvin, Robert, Richard, and Lawrence Zunk. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Bill Hatfield at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, OH with military graveside services.
