Clyde W. Sandrock

Clyde W. Sandrock, 86, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 7, 2018, at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital in Oregon. He was born September 10, 1931, in Curtice to Fred and Clara (Strackeljohn) Sandrock. Clyde married Donna Grosjean in Oregon on September 20, 1952, and she preceded him in death June of 2004. On October 16, 2004, in Williston, he married Mary (Nowak) Schimming and she survives. Clyde loved farming and farmed all his life; and from 1980-1992 he hauled hay, straw and grain for Luckey Farmers in Ottawa County. He also grew tomatoes, cucumbers, sugar beets, pumpkins and grain. He was a life member of the Farmers Union and a member of the Farm Bureau. He not only enjoyed farming, Clyde liked to play cards, especially Pinochle, and he enjoyed attending his grandchildrens events as well as the Genoa athletic events. In addition to his wife, Mary, Clyde is survived by his son, Loren (Jean) Sandrock of Sylvania, daughters, Roberta (Karl) Orians of Curtice and Deborah Amborski of Oregon; step children, Jerry (Pam) Schimming of Graytown and Anita Montague of Walbridge; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and one step-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna, sister, Mildred Koob, and brother, Ralph Sandrock. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, where Clyde was an active lifetime member, A fellowship and luncheon will take place in the church basement immediately following the service.
