Clyde L. Duncan, Jr.

Clyde L. Duncan, Jr., age 85, of Toledo, died February 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Clyde was born November 12, 1935 in Adrian, MI. He graduated from Adrian High School, Michigan State University and served in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. He began his work career at Toledo Scale in 1960 where he was employed until 1980 when he started his own business, Deka Scale. Clyde owned and operated Deka until selling the business and retiring in 2006. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, fishing, and spending time on his boat “My Weigh”. He served as Commodore of the Toledo Yacht Club in 2000. He also liked to travel and remained an avid fan of MSU sports. Clyde was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania, where he and his wife were active with the Prayer Support Group. Generous and compassionate, he volunteered with the Boy Scouts and at The Toledo Hospital visiting cancer patients. Family always came first, and he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Patricia; son, Scott (Colleen) Duncan; grandchildren, Bradley, Drew, and Lauren (Aaron) Mick; and his loving Tonkinese cat, Bree. He was also preceded in death by his son, Charles Todd Duncan. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Friday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where a scripture service and sharing of memories will be held at 6:45 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5411 Main St., Sylvania. Clyde will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park with U.S. Army military honors. Facial coverings and social distancing are required at all events. Mass can be viewed via livestream on the St. Joseph parish website (stjoesylvania.org/158). Memorials, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to the church or ProMedica Hospice.
