Clifford Wheeler, surrounded by the love of his family, passed away on February 9, 2026. Born and raised in Port Clinton, Ohio, Cliff was the first of five sons born to William and Mary Ann Wheeler. Known for his strong work ethic and a familiar sight riding his bicycle through town, Cliff was a lifelong resident whose presence left an imprint on everyone who knew him.
From an early age, Cliff learned to hunt and fish alongside his father and brothers-skills that became lifelong passions. He especially loved bow hunting, earning the nickname "Robin Hood" from his dad for his remarkable accuracy with a bow and arrow. Cliff also enjoyed fishing and even turned his knack for catching catfish into a small business. Summers often found him setting turtle traps and hauling in turtles nearly the size of a Thanksgiving turkey.
Cedar Point was one of Cliff's favorite places, particularly during HalloWeekends. Halloween was a holiday he looked forward to each year, and no visit to the park was complete without a ride on the Scrambler.
Cliff is survived by his daughter, Melissa; brothers Bill (Kelley) Wheeler Jr. and Frank (Crystal) Wheeler Sr.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Richard Sr. and Mike Sr.; and nephew Jason.
