Clifford N. Dull

March 23, 1945 — January 3, 2022

Clifford “Pete” Dull, 76, died peacefully at home with the love of his life Betty by his side. Pete was born in Tiffin, Ohio on March 23, 1945, the son of Harold and Hilda (Miller) Dull. He graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1964. Even though he was sought out by many Big Twelve Colleges to play football, he declined the offers to stay in Tiffin to support his parents and family. His strong athletic ability was recently recognized as he was inducted into the Tiffin Columbian Athletic Hall of Fame. He worked in his younger years in Dull’s Body Shop in Tiffin, and then worked many years as a tool and die welder and finished the last 26 years of his career at Jeep. He married Betty Brough on March 2, 1968. Pete has always been an athlete and has enjoyed playing all sports. He enjoyed playing in basketball and football leagues with his son, Troy and grandson. He also enjoyed playing golf with his granddaughters, even though they were able to beat him despite always placing his ball on a good lie. He had a vast number of interests. He loved watching classic western movies, playing chess with his grandson, watching his granddaughters play high school and colligate golf, and ripping up the dance floor with his love Betty or embraced with her to “Unchained Melody”. He loved his dog Millie and taking her for walks down to the 7-Eleven. That was his time to sneak and buy a candy bar for him and his grandchildren, but with the added statement of, “Don’t tell your grandmother”. Pete smiled with his heart and would do anything for his friends and family. He had the Lord Jesus in his heart. He was a fighter and fought a courageous battle against cancer. He still won because he will live on forever in our minds and hearts. He was a member of the Masons. Pete is survived by his wife, Betty Dull; son, Troy (Cathy) Dull; grandchildren, Makayla (Gage) Ware, Noah Dull, Kyleigh Dull; nieces and nephews, Mike (Chris) O’Hagan, Viola Gathers, Harvey Mizen Jr., Chad (Tina) Brough, Lori Johnson, Clifford Dull, Christopher Dull, Kerry Dull, Clinton Dull, Allison Makosky, Fred “Kicker”; and sister-in-law Linda Dull. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Hilda Dull; sisters, Virginia O’Hagan, Jeanette Mizen, Kathryn (Jim) Black; and brothers Alex Dull and Clinton Dull. Graveside services were held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Township Union Cemetery, 11565 OH-105, Oak Harbor, OH.
