Cletis Earl Sonney Blakemore

Cletis “Sonney” Earl Blakemore, 80, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at his home. He was born in Rose Hill, VA on July 27, 1938 to Clarence E. and Georgia (Pace) Blakemore. Sonney was married to LouAnna (Yeary) for 57 years. He was an active member of Athens Missionary Baptist Church in Walbridge where he served as Deacon for over 30 years. The church was like family to him. Sonney was like a father role model to his grandchildren and loved teasing friends close to him. He was a Mason in the Paragon Lodge #788. Sonney always wore a cowboy hat that matched his personality and his big loving heart. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Left to cherish his memory, loving wife, LouAnna; son, Robert Blakemore; grandchildren, Cameron Blakemore, Killian Blakemore, Anthony Anderson-Blakemore; sister, Clara Wilson; niece, Terrie Gardner; and his entire church community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence E. Blakemore and Georgia Pace-Blakemore-Bond; and son, Jeffrey Blakemore. Friends will be received on Thursday, October 18, 2018 beginning at 4:00 p.m., until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Athens Missionary Baptist Church, 101 W. Breckman Street, Walbridge, OH 43465. Burial will take place on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, OH. Memorial contributions in Sonney’s name may be made to the church.
