Claude James Burkhart

Claude “Butch” James Burkhart, age 78, of Oregon, OH, passed away November 21, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Ebeid Care Center. He was born June 23, 1945, in Oregon, Ohio. On June 17, 1967, Butch married Cheri Hickman and they enjoyed 52 years together. He was employed by Holland Building Services as a window cleaner until his retirement. Butch enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and feeding the birds in his backyard. He loved watching sporting events on television, especially football and basketball.

Butch is survived by his daughters, Steffanie (Kevin) Sawmiller and Heather (Mike Garza) Moser; grandchildren, Christopher Moser, Madison Moser, Kelly Sawmiller, and Kristin Sawmiller; sister, Peggy Eller; nephews; and canine companion, Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Perry and Martha Byers Perry; and wife, Cheri Burkhart.

Butch will be laid to rest privately at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Lucas County Humane Society.
