Claro T Tosino was surrounded by his loving family and peacefully welcomed into Gods embrace at 93 y.o. in Columbus, OH on November 4th. He is known as a model of hard work, equality and a devotion to God and family.
He was born in Urdaneta, Pangasinan in the Philippines in 1930 to Eulogio Juan Tosino and Maria Torbela Tosino the second eldest of seven children. Growing up he aspired to immigrate to the United States to make a better life for his future family. He met the love of his life, Felicidad Quiambao through his soon to be brother-in-law Venancio Quiambao while in medical school. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married January 6, 1957. In 1960 their first-born son Clair G Tosino (Amy) followed by Jon E Tosino (Bonnie) and Theresa T Pfeiffer (Thomas).
Claro was a dedicated physician however his favorite role was that of grandfather (Papa). His favorite activity was spending time with all his grandchildren. Evan Tosino (Kayln, Tilley, Mitzi), Nicole Tosino, CJ Tosino, Carrington Smith (Connor), Jessica Tosino, Zachary Pfeiffer, Julia Tosino, Ashley Pfeiffer, and Lauren Pfeiffer. His grandchildren will always fondly remember him for his birthday celebration parties in the backyard pool “coin toss.”
Claro was a devout Catholic and an active member of Christ the King Church, devoting his time and energy to the parish as an usher and to the Filipino Association of Toledo. In his free time, he also enjoyed gardening in his yard.
Claro was preceded in death by parents Eulogio and Maria Tosino, siblings Calixta T Tosino, Maximno T Tosino (Rose), Apolonia T Ramirez (Andres), and is survived by siblings Cornelio T Tosino (Erlinda), Julita T Dean (Sylus), and Olivia T Agappi (Jimmy).
Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 17th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, with a Scripture Service beginning at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 18th at 10:30 am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo. There will be a live video stream of the service through https://cktoledo.org/live-stream/ Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to SCORE (Special Commission on Relief & Education of the Filipino Assoc. of Toledo, PO Box 715, Maumee, OH 43537) would be appreciated.
