Clarissa Satterfield Hoover

September 10, 1958 — December 28, 2024

Clarissa Satterfield Hoover, lovingly known as Risa, passed away December 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 10, 1958, in Nashville, TN. A devoted stay-at-home mom, Risa dedicated her life to her family and community. She volunteered tirelessly at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in pre-op, where her huge heart and helping hands touched many lives.

Risa was an independent spirit, always ready to lend a hand or offer a kind word. She was a cherished member of Hope Lutheran Church, where she found joy in teaching Sunday School alongside her daughter, Mallorie. Her love for children was evident in every lesson she shared.

A culinary artist in her own right, Risa's kitchen was always filled with the delightful aromas of her famous cheesecakes and brownies. She also had a green thumb, tending to both her flower and vegetable gardens with great care. Her favorite blooms were the vibrant hibiscuses that adorned her garden.

Risa's adventurous spirit took her around the world. She explored the wonders of China, Thailand, Russia, Turkey, Morocco, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and her beloved France. Each journey added to the rich tapestry of her life.

Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the joyful barks of her beloved dogs. Risa's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

Risa is survived by her husband, Arthur Hoover; daughter, Mallorie Hoover; siblings, Pat Satterfield, Geof Satterfield, and Cindy Rogers; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Clara Satterfield and aunt, Willie Mae Long.

Services for Risa will be private. She will be laid to rest in Hartsville Memorial Gardens in Hartsville, TN.
