Clarence Schmidt

Clarence Schmidt, 93, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, in Genoa, OH.

Smitty could often be found in his basement working on a woodworking project, feeding the birds, or watching old westerns. If he wasn't doing that, he was helping his beloved wife with her crafts at craft fairs. He married his beautiful wife on June 21st, 1952. One of Smitty's most memorable moments was when he was the houseboat captain on a family vacation.

Clarence is survived by Vicki Niefer - daughter, Robin (Pete) Pressnell - daughter, Tina (Darrell) Rodgers - granddaughter, Mari (Nick) Ness - granddaughter, Mikal (Kristi) Bechstein - grandson, Jenna (Michael) Englund - granddaughter, Sadie Ness - great-granddaughter, Hadden Rodgers - great-grandson, Paige Rodgers - great-granddaughter, Gabriel Bechstein - great-grandson, Sami Englund - great-granddaughter, and Baby Englund - great-grandchild.

Clarence is preceded in death by Hugo Schmidt - father, Ada Schmidt - mother, Samuel Niefer - grandson, and E. Marilyn Schmidt - wife

The service for Clarence Schmidt will be private on Saturday, January 17th, 2026.

Memorial donations can be made in Clarence's name to Genoa Retirement Village or the Humane Society of Toledo.
