Clarence Bud J. Palmer, 88, of Rocky Ridge, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, August 20, 2014, at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. He was born May 13, 1926, in Rice Township, Ohio, to Clarence, Sr. and Dorothy L. (Henry) Palmer. On August 21, 1948, in Oak Harbor he married Barbara A. Holman and she survives. Bud was a farmer for 30 years and retired in 1989 after 35 years at Standard Products. He was a faithful member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Oak Harbor. In addition to his loving wife, Barbara-they were one day shy of 66 years together-Bud is survived by his children: Rosanna (Charley) Wheeler of Sandusky, Edward Palmer of Oak Harbor, Francine (David) Berger of Columbus, Christina (Tim) Reed of Fremont, Sandra Goff of Rocky Ridge, Barbie Palmer (Guillermo Parra) of Marietta, GA, Mary Palmer of Fremont and Juliana (Frank) Bertone of Columbus; 24 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. His parents and grandson, Joseph Joey Goff, preceded him in death, along with sisters, Anna Rose Clarr, Dorothy Jean Holman and Elizabeth Gerber. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2014, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. A Parish Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 215 N. Church St., Oak Harbor, where his body will lie in state from 9:30-10:30 a.m. one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Limestone Cemetery, Graytown. The family has suggested memorials for Bud to be given to St. Boniface Catholic Church or Stein Hospice, 1200 N. Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
