Clara "Jo" Crawford, age 92, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 4, 2026, while in the care of Northern Lakes Nursing Home in Angola, Indiana.
She was born on July 9, 1933, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, to Hugh and Hazel Sheets. A proud graduate of Broadway High School in Virginia, Jo built a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and devotion to family. It was in Virginia that she met the love of her life, Sherman "Buck" Crawford. Together they made their home in Northwest Ohio, where they shared more than 60 years of marriage and built a lasting legacy.
Over 50 years ago, Jo founded Crawford's Upholstery, a business that became well known in the community. Through long days and steady hands, she restored and beautified countless pieces of furniture, taking pride in her craftsmanship. Alongside her, Buck supported the business by picking up and delivering pieces, making them a true team in both work and life.
Outside of her work, Jo found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved fishing on the lake, bowling in leagues, reading romance novels, watching game shows, and playing solitaire. She cherished time spent with family, especially trips to Florida. Though she often cooked for herself, she never passed up a trip to Burger King to pick up chicken nuggets for her beloved dog, Elway. In her later days, she found comfort in a plush calico cat that became a treasured companion.
Jo was a member of the Rossford Fraternal Order of Eagles #2322 Auxiliary, where she formed many meaningful friendships over the years.
She is survived by her children, RaeNel (Greg) Glassford and Jody (Sandra) Sheets; grandchildren, Jeremy Parker, JoNae Sheets, Becca Adamson, Nathan Paul, Brittany Lacy, Amanda Glassford, and Charlie Sheets; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman "Buck" Crawford; her parents; her beloved siblings; her daughter, Debra Daugherty; and her faithful dog, Elway.
Jo's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Northern Lakes Nursing Home, especially the CNAs, for their compassionate care and support.
Friends and family are invited to gather from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, Ohio, where a Fraternal Order of Eagles service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.
