Clara Mae Campbell, age 94, passed away peacefully at the Sunset House in Toledo on February 10, 2021, under the care of Ashanti Hospice. Clara was born August 29, 1926 on the family farm in Marion Center, PA to Roland and Cora Smith. Her husband worked countless hours and it was up to Clara to take care of the home and make holidays special. Clara was a 1946 graduate of Marion Center High School. She married John G. Campbell on June 16, 1947 in East Kane, PA and they made Punxsutawney, PA their home before eventually settling in the Toledo area in 1959. Clara was a regular at the Sylvania Senior Center where she participated in their many activities and she also enjoyed walking in the Olander Park System in Sylvania. Until recently she enjoyed the activities and socialization with other residents at Sunset House. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered as the glue that held her family together. Clara is survived by sons, Charles “Chuck” (Mary), John (Carol), and Ronald (Anna) Campbell; grandchildren, Scott (Krystal), Jennifer (Shawn) Calhoun, Justin, Maria, Catherine (Jacob) Wurzel; great grandchildren, Kayla, Kloe and Jonah. She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Campbell; grandsons, Jeffrey and Jason. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at Walker Funeral Homes 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd) where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Springfield Twp cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Sunset House or Ashanti Hospice. Condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
