Claire Joan Kallenbach, 85, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Friday, May 29, 2015 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH, surrounded by her loving family. Claire was born on February 06, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Cora (Larson) Mayer. On September 16, 1950, she married Gerald A. Kallenbach Sr. and he survives. Claire was the office manager at the Uhlman’s Dept. store and also worked at W.R. Thomas, both of Port Clinton, OH. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Sarah Circle at church. Claire enjoyed needlework and reading. She loved her adoptive home town of Port Clinton. Claire loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include: Loving Husband of 64 years: Gerald A. Kallenbach Sr.; Son: Gerald (Belva) Kallenbach Jr; Daughter: Sally (Daniel) Paumier; Son: Richard (Martha) Kallenbach; 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Claire was preceded in death by her parents, 9 brothers & sisters, infant granddaughter: Rachel Brumm and infant son: Craig Kallenbach. A Memorial service conducted by Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, June 06, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, OH, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial donations in memory of Claire may be given to the Ida Rupp Public Library or Trinity United Methodist Church. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH has assisted the family with arrangements.
