Claire E. Fraiser passed away peacefully at her home Friday the 10th of April at the age of 97. Born in 1918 in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she resided there until 1959. She moved, with her family, to Tucson, Arizona, where she met her beloved Ed. Together, they resided in Owosso, Michigan for 30 years and after Ed’s passing, spent the last 24 years of her life in Sylvania. Claire was a voracious reader who still frequented the library, until the end. Playing card games with friends and family, especially bridge, was one of her favorite pastimes. She loved to be outside to feel the sun, as it reminded her fondly of her winters in Venice, Florida. Claire is survived by her three children; Sandra (Frank) Clement of Naples, FL, Richard (Kathy) Hazen of Doylestown, PA, Caryl Lind of Toledo, OH, and also her beloved six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother, two husbands (Richard Hazen and Edward Fraiser), and son-in-law Larry Lind. Friends will be gathering to celebrate Claire’s life at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) from 12-2:00 pm on Saturday, April 18th, followed by a service at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on Claire’s behalf to the Toledo Botanical Gardens, 5403 Elmer Drive, Toledo, OH 43615 and the Library Legacy Foundation, 325 Michigan Street, Toledo, OH 43604.
