Claire P. Allen passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 23, 2015 at Heartland in Perrysburg Ohio. Born November 30, 1917 in Congo, Ohio, she was a lifelong resident of Worthington, Ohio, where she shared the gifts of her artistic talents in her paintings of children and pets. She accomplished a style of primitive painting, especially portraits in oil and pastels of children and adults. She was also known for her pastoral murals in restaurants like Norma’s in Worthington and The Neil House. She graduated Portsmouth High School and Bliss Business School and retired from Riverside Methodist Hospital as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Nursing. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Worthington for over 50 years and a member of the Flower Guild, and lifelong member of the Worthington Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Charles Edwin Allen Sr., of which they were married for 60 years; parents Clarence and Mary Glass Ramsey, a sister Bertha, brother Raybob, and son-in-law, Boyd D. Robinson. She is survived by her 2 children son, Charles Edwin Jr.(Gloria) of Maumee, Ohio; and daughter, Mary Jo Allen Carlos (son-in-law, Don Carlos) of Westerville, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Boyd Allen Robinson, Beth Koeberle (Roger); JoAnn, Lori Lawrence (Dan), Charles Edwin III, Todd (Seema), Katie Hazard (Dan), and 11 beloved great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 310 Elizabeth St., Maumee, OH 43537. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 33000 East River Rd. Perrysburg, OH 43551.
