Christopher "Ski" Podzinski made his journey home to meet Jesus, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Friday, January 22, 2021. He was a Loving & Devoted Husband a Doting Dad and Pappaw. Chris was born July 23rd, 1956 to Stanley & Ursula Podzinski. He graduated from Whitmer High School in 1974 and continued his education at Monroe Community College and The University of Toledo. He had his dream job as a "Police Officer" As he worked a short time for Ottawa Hills PD, then onto being hired in at Toledo Metro Parks where he began his career. He started at Wildwood Mounted Division, then ended at Sidecut as Detective over the Metro Parks District then retiring in 2009. He then began working through the Lucas County Sheriff's Department, working various jobs. He worked for Toledo Public Schools, at Phoenix Academy till they closed. He then went on to project at TPS for Sporting events and more. He was employed by Lucas County Children's Services, till he was diagnosed with stage 4 Esophageal Cancer and had to quit, December 2020. Chris had an affinity for animals, he really enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family at the lake. He also enjoyed fishing with his Police Buddies on Lake Michigan in the Fall. Chris never met a stranger, he always had such a big heart and was always willing to help. He was a member at Calvary Bible Chapel and was Ordained in January 2004. He is proceed in death by his Father, Stanley J. Podzinski; his Grandparents; Daughter, Heather N. Haefner; Granddaughter Taylor Marie Allen; and grandson in-law Rudy N. Gonzales. He is survived by his wife Nina M. Podzinski; daughters, Heidi Cluckey & Holly Schaus; sons, Joseph, Jacob and Johnathon Podzinski; 15 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren; his Mom, Ursula and his Sister Hollis Podzinski; his brother in-law Frank Reynolds; and sister in-law Tina Carlson; his Godson Christopher Gray and his Goddaughter Kayla Hovey. Visitation will be at Calvary Bible Chapel (3740 W. Alexis, Toledo, Ohio 43623) Wednesday, January 27th from 3pm to 8:00pm. Service will be Thursday January 28th at 12pm with an additional time of visitation beginning at 10AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Family or Calvary Bible Chapel.
