Christopher N. Magi, 60, of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away with his loving family by his side, on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on December 7, 1962 in Marion, Ohio, the son of the late Michael Angelo and Judith Joyce (Taylor) Magi. He married Lisa Hillenbrand and she survives.
Chris was the operator of his family’s business, Phil’s Inn Restaurant in Port Clinton, Ohio until the business closed in 2019.
He enjoyed aviation and became a pilot when he was only 16. He loved being in the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. He was a certified Firearms Instructor, having gone through the police academy and becoming a marksman. He earned his Black Belt in Karate where he later became a Karate Instructor. He also played the guitar beautifully.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 30 years, Lisa; sons, Brett Magi, Joseph Munoz and Greg (Brittany) Munoz; daughter, Giselle (Michael) Shoemaker; grandchildren, Julian, Valentino and Lincoln; sister, Amy Magi (Cliff Howell); brother, Sean Magi (Felicia Workman); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Angelo Magi, Jr.
Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 3 – 6 pm with a time for sharing memories at 6 pm. Burial will be private at a later date.
