Christopher Edward Hansen

January 19, 1976 — May 25, 2026

The family of Christopher Edward Hansen, 50, is deeply saddened to announce his unexpected passing on May 25, 2026, at his home in Sarasota, Florida. Chris was a kind and sensitive soul who loved his family and friends deeply, and his presence will be greatly missed. Born on January 19, 1976, in Sylvania, Ohio, to Gregory and Jennifer Hansen (Arthur), Chris spent his early years in Perrysburg, Ohio, graduating from Perrysburg High School in 1994. He was a loyal and caring friend to his many "P-burg buddies" throughout the years. He attended Ohio State University and Owens Community College, where he earned an associate degree.

Chris married his high school sweetheart, Jennifer Ramirez, in 2001, and their son, Elijah, was born in December that same year. They worked hard and bought their dream home in Haskins, OH, but unfortunately, Jen tragically passed away in December 2005, and Chris became a stay-at-home dad to care for his 4-year-old son. Elijah and Chris became best buddies and inseparable. His loyal friends and loving family were an immeasurable help to him through his grief, and he never failed to mention their love as integral to his healing and helping raise his beloved son and daughter into the proud children he loved so dearly.

In 2010, Chris became the proud father of his daughter, Lola, with Natalie Santabanez (Duquette). Chris and Natalie started raising their family in Perrysburg before new opportunities presented themselves in Sarasota, FL. Chris pursued a sales position at Mullwood Cabinets, where he worked until his passing. He worked tirelessly on the road all across the southeastern United States to establish himself and his product as premier in the region.

Chris was a devoted father to his two children, doing whatever it took to push them to their highest potential and happiness. His daughter, Lola, 15, just completed her sophomore year at Riverview High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society for Science and History and has been accepted into the International Baccalaureate program. She is well on her way to becoming a prolific academic and pursuing her dreams wherever they take her. His son, Elijah, 24, is a graduate of Riverview High School's International Baccalaureate program and holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University. He resides in Chicago, IL, where he works as a software engineer for Google.

Chris will be greatly missed by his loving children, Elijah and Lola; mother, Jennifer Meyer (Ron); brother, David Hansen; sister, Holly Merillat; his large extended family and friends; and his beloved dog, Leia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennifer Hansen; father, Gregory Hansen; parents-in-law, Tino and Virginia Ramirez; and grandparents, Printy and Jo Arthur and Edward and Marilyn Hansen.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 W. South Boundary, Perrysburg, OH. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, with a pre-service visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. at Perrysburg First Church, 200 W. Second St., Perrysburg, OH. Burial following service at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery, 620 W. Indiana Ave, Perrysburg, followed by a luncheon at the church.
