Christopher Joseph Burlingame

Christopher J. Burlingame, 43, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. He was born on August 6, 1980 in Medina, Ohio, the son of Holly Lewis (Leister) and Jeff Burlingame. On February 14, 2013 he married Anne-Marie Martin and she survives.

Chris retired after 20 years of honorable service in the Army with numerous deployments under his belt.

Chris was an incredible man. He never stopped trying to take care of all those around him. Those who knew him best know that he placed everyone’s needs above his own. He was a dedicated father to his son, Cillian. The two of them were inseparable. If you couldn’t find them building legos or working in the shop together, you could find them in the woods. Chris loved taking Cillian camping. Showing Cillian the world was his greatest passion; his main mission was to give Cillian an extraordinary life full of wonder.

Chris spent his last night on earth with his wife, Anne- Marie; son, Cillian; best friend, Kevin Scarpino; as well as other family members, attending his son’s school fundraiser auction. He’d love to be remembered the way he was that night- laughing, happy, and full of love.

Survivors include his wife, Anne-Marie; son, Cillian; mother, Holly Lewis; father, John Lewis; father, Jeff Burlingame; step mother, Dora Burlingame; sister, Melinda Morris (Lewis); sister, Jennifer Burlingame He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett and Glendora Leister; grandparents, Elmer Scott and Val Lewis; grandparents, Robert Joseph and Dorothy Ann Burlingame (Mersing); sister, Taylor Burlingame.

There will be no services at this time as cremation has taken place. A celebration of Chris’ life will take place at a later date.
