Christine Thompson

Christine H. Thompson, 98, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away, Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Cottage Cove in Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. She was born December 14, 1909 in Salem Township, the daughter of Fred and Lucy Bahnsen Lorensen. On June 16, 1928 in Oak Harbor, she married Lester L. Thompson and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1971. Christine worked as a factory worker for the J.W. Weller Company for 30 years, retiring in 1980 and also as a homemaker. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, the Sarah Circle, the Social Card Club and loved making quilts at the church and all the activities at Riverview Healthcare Campus. She especially loved making sugar cookies for her family. Christine will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: son: Marvin JoAnn Thompson of Oak Harbor, OH; 3 grandchildren: David Patricia Thompson, Mark Terri Thompson, and Susan John Weidner; 7 great-grandchildren: Kelly Weidner, Amanda Kurt Lenke, Daniel Erica Thompson, Alecia Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Brooke Anne Thompson, and Nicholas Thompson; and 2 great-great-grandchildren: Taylor Jo Lenke and Tucker John Lenke. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Henry, Bernard, Edward and Carl Lorensen, sisters: Anna Hermes and Pearl Buhrow. Visitation will be Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 2-8 p.m. in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Cheryl Wessel on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, OH. Interment will be in Rusha Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, OH or Cottage Cove at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor.
