Christine M. Jarosz, 87, of Toledo, died peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2022, surrounded by her family. Being a mother and grandmother was the joy of her life as she strived to be caring and compassionate. Christine was born September 27, 1934, in Toledo to the late Ted and Helen (Pytlewski) Zawacki. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Fred J. Jarosz, until his passing in 2016.
A 1951 graduate of Central Catholic High School, her Catholic faith, Polish heritage and family values were of most importance. Christine was a dedicated homemaker who found her greatest enjoyment in sacrificing herself for the good of others, especially her children and grandchildren. Her humble, selfless spirit radiated unto all who knew her, inspiring generations within her family to be better people.
Christine loved learning about and sharing in her grandsons’ life adventures and accomplishments, of which she was most proud. She volunteered at Christ the King Catholic Church as a Sunday school teacher in the late 1980s, a place she was a longtime and faithful member. Christine had a givers heart, a good sense of humor, and a positive influence on everyone she met. Her approach to life was simple and when faced with adversity she would just say, “It is what it is!”
Christine enjoyed music and talk radio, many cups of coffee, and meeting people. She kept conversations light with often quick and humorous replies. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, friends, and parish community.
Surviving is her son Ken, (Becky) Jarosz; daughter, Karen Jarosz; grandsons Brooks and Tyler Jarosz; and dear loved ones, Michael Bell and Janet Mieu. She was proceeded in death by her siblings, David and Theodore Zawacki and Marie Schneider.
A funeral Mass for Christine is being held privately. Condolences may be sent to the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com, or a monetary donation can be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or ProMedica Hospice in Christine’s honor.
