Christina Loizou Temple lost her battle with breast cancer on May 16th after a valiant fight. She was born to Costas and Maroulla Loizou on January 23 1971. She was born in Toledo, attending Washington Local Schools and the University of Toledo, where she earned a bachelor's in speech and a master's in special education.
She met her loving husband Michael Temple in college; they married in 1999, making their home in Sylvania. They were married for 25 years until her passing. They have two beautiful children, Christopher (23) and Marianna (20).
She spent 28 years as a special needs teacher in Perrysburg Schools at Frank Elementary, helping many students learn to read, write, and learn skills that would change their lives forever. She will be missed by her many students and colleagues.
She enjoyed traveling, visiting Cyprus, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, England and many places in the U.S. She enjoyed cooking, especially Greek and Asian foods, crafting, and donating time to her church. Christina was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral her entire life.
Christina was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband and children and other loving family members.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 23, 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43623. A service will be performed by Father Larry Legakis at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 24 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 740 N. Superior Street, Toledo, Ohio 43604 with a Makaria luncheon following graveside services.
The family sincerely appreciates the excellent treatment Christina received at The James Cancer Hospital at OSU in Columbus.
