Christina J. Elmes

Christina J. Elmes, 40, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Oh, surrounded by her loving family. Christina was born October 16, 1975, in Port Clinton, OH. On March 14, 1998 she married Dale L. Elmes. Christina was an event planner and also worked with her husband in his construction business. She was a member of the Port Clinton Bible Methodist Church. Christina’s life was centered around her family and friends. She always thought about others before herself. Christina had a passion to change the world through empowering teenagers. She loved traveling and one day dreamed of traveling to Italy to explore castles. In her last days she wanted to give her ideas and dreams on making next year’s family reunion a huge success! She recruited family members to make this happen. Left to cherish her memory: Husband: Dale Elmes; Daughters: Christina & Jessica Elmes; Son: James Taylor; Granddaughter: Christiona L. Fenton; Mother: Joanna Russell; Sister; Melanie L. (John Jones) Terry; Father-in-Law: Carl Smith and many loving Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles & Cousins. Christina was preceded in death by her father: James D. Taylor in 1978, step-father: Danny Russell in 2011, step-brother: Dean Alan Russell in 2013, mother-in-law: Patricia Smith in 2009, maternal grandparents: Arthur & Nettie Mattox and paternal grandparents: Ralph & Grace Taylor. A Gathering of family & friends will be from 1-2PM, Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Catawba Island Township Hall, Port Clinton, OH, followed by a Celebration of Life service, conducted by Pastor Deron Fourman at 2:00PM. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations in Christina’s memory be given to the family. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory has assisted the family with arrangements.
