CHESTER A. ROWE Chester A. Rowe, 91, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at The Manor of Perrysburg. Chester was born May 20, 1920 in Elkhorn City, Kentucky to Ballard and Pearl (Bingham) Rowe. He married Audrey McSurely on August 4, 1941 in Elkhorn City, Kentucky and she preceded him in death on March 23, 2005. Chester was a heavy equipment operator for Bentley and Company for 50 years. He was a member of Hope in Christ Community Church in Perrysburg. Chester loved gardening, hunting and sports, especially the Detroit Tigers. He was proud member of International Union of Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18. Chester is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Moline, Diana Bakies and Rita (Bob) Materni; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and brothers, Charles Rowe and James (Sue) Rowe. Along with his wife, Audrey, Chester was preceded in death by his sons, Nickey and Eddie; daughter, Jennifer; parents and one sister and three brothers. Friends will be received Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope in Christ Community Church In Perrysburg.
