Cheryl Ann Emmitt

Cheryl Ann Emmitt, 78, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on Thursday, March 16, 2023, after a long illness. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Walter and Gertrude (Breska) Piorkowski, on March 6, 1945. Cheryl graduated from Macomber-Whitney High School in 1963 and began a career in cosmetology. On July 16, 1966 she married the love of her life, Jack A. Emmitt, in Toledo, and they shared many happy years raising their family.

Cheryl spent 20 years working as a pharmacy technician for the former K-Mart store in Perrysburg, until its closing. She loved talking to her customers, many of whom became long-time friends. She was a caregiver by nature, not only to her family, but to friends and all those who needed a hand. She found great comfort in her Catholic faith as a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg and was devoted to her daily praying of the Rosary.

Cheryl loved her family with her whole heart and relished every minute she spent with them, and showed everyone unconditional love. She was always present for their school and sporting events and was always up for a board game, card game or going to the movies. Sharing with her family most always included a meal either at home or going out to one of her favorite places.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jack, children, Kelly A. Emmitt-Gillingham, Kathy A. Emmitt-Killy, Christopher D. (Michelle) Emmitt, Kerry A. (Chris) Emmitt Healy, and Jonathan M. (Jennifer Coy) Emmitt, grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Dominic, Zachary, Hunter, Logan, Toryn, Mason, Kennedy, and Avery, great-grandchildren, Chloe, Carter, Coda, Paisley, and Oliver, along with her fur babies, Rudy & Gibson and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother and sister-in-law, Richard & Marlene Piorkowski.

Visitation for Cheryl will be held from 2:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, Ohio. Additional visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St., Perrysburg, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, Ohio. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the church.
