Charlotte R Conner

Charlotte Conner, age 78, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after a long illness. She was born May 23, 1933 in Toledo to Robert and Maude Izaguirre. She attended Glann Elementary School and graduated from DeVilbiss High. Charlotte was a retired Blade Executive and managed over fifty employees in the Classified Advertising Phone Sales Department. She was responsible for introducing many new improvements in classified advertising that were adopted by many newspapers across the nation. She retired after 36 years of service. Following retirement, Charlotte and her husband, Chuck, traveled extensively for many years throughout the world including the Far East, the Mediterranean, Europe and South America. She also enjoyed spending time with Chuck at their condo in Satellite Beach, Florida. A roller coaster enthusiast, she also enjoyed hang gliding, para sailing, and water skiing. Charlotte was an active member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church and was a TWIN Honoree Toledo Women In Industry. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Charles Chuck children, Greg Patti Conner, Deidre Dino Viscosi Conner, Jeff Eileen Conner, and Wendy Conner five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Lowell Izaguirre and loving schnauzer, Missy Lynn. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Anthony Izaguirre. Friends and family may visit on Sunday from 2 to 8 PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd.. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM with visitation an hour prior to the start of the service at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 5240 Talmadge Rd. with Father Joe Keblesh, Jr. officiating.
