Charles W. Charlie Wilkins 82, of Temperance, Michigan and Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday. Charlie was born on January 14, 1931 to Charles and Mary Wilkins in Toledo Ohio. After graduating from Macomber High School he married his high school sweet heart Dorothy Osemlak Wilkins on September 16, 1950. Together they raised three daughters. Charlie was a talented mechanic and salesman. Dorothy was a financial whiz and together they founded Wilkins Food Equipment growing it into a successful business until their retirement in 1993. They had 48 years together until her death in 1998. Charlie was a presence to be reckoned with he lived life to the fullest and was fun. He was a devoted father and loving grandfather. Charlie loved people, telling stories, Jaguar convertibles actually all cars, and winning at cards and football bets. He enjoyed all things on the water cottages, boating, or just hanging by a pool. He was a lifetime member of Riverview Yacht Club. It was there that Charlie reconnected with a long time friend Bev Imes and they shared 12 years together. Charlie will be sadly missed by his loving companion, Bev Imes and her family; children Jackie John Trenholm, Cindy Morris, Lynn Fred Miller Wilkins; grandchildren John and Christine Trenholm and Charlotte Morris; sister Sue France of NJ and brother-in-law Alex Osemlak of Dearborn Heights, MI. Friends may call from 3-7 PM on Tuesday April 2, 2013 at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd with a Tolling of the Bells at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Frass officiating. Final resting place will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Sunshine Childrens Home 7223 Maumee Western Maumee, OH 43537 or a charity of their choosing.
