Charles J. Wielinski, age 78, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Kingston Care Center in Sylvania. Charles was born to Alexander and Louise Wielinski on December 15, 1929 in Toledo, OH where he married Ruth Wozniak nearly 21 years later at St. Hedwigs Catholic Church. Charles worked for the City of Toledo as a general foreman of the Sewer & Maintenance Department for 35 years before retiring to spend time pursuing his many interests and hobbies. He also worked in the paint department at Sears Westgate after retirement. Charles was a talented woodworker. He loved traveling, especially to visit casinos and dog tracks, and he also enjoyed fishing and bowling. Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth; children, Mary Keith Shrader, Mark Joyce Wielinski, and Sue Bill Chapman; grandchildren, Jason Alicia Lukens Wielinski, Brett Wielinski, Tina Zajac, Brian April Shrader, Kelly Casey Kozak, and Kim Shrader; great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Alex, Eric, and Austin Zajac; Alyssa and Andrew Shrader, and Collin, Caleb, and Kelsey Kozak; sister, Carolyn Mikesell; longtime, dear neighbor, Reid Werner, and best friend, Buddy, his dog. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2-8 pm at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania,west of Corey Rd. with a rosary service at 7 pm. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 9:15 AM with prayers at the funeral home followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10 AM in St. Clements Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Kingston Residence of Sylvania.
