Charles Edward White

Charles E. White, 71, of Genoa, died Wednesday, December 2, 2020, in his residence, after a brief illness. He was born in Greenville, SC on July 6, 1949, the son of James and Nellie White. He married Angela J. (Reitzel) in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 1, 1974 and she survives. Charles was a caring and compassionate counselor working with youth who dealt with substance abuse issues both here in Ohio and Michigan. Charles was a very personable man who made friends easily wherever he went. In his early years he was a successful salesman due to his easygoing and respectful nature. After he retired, he enjoyed traveling with his wife Angie around the USA and cruising the oceans, playing chess, reading Sci-Fi books, jewelry making and other arts and crafts. Charles always enjoyed being around children, especially his grandchildren encouraging them to be the best they could be. Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years, Angie, children, Jamal N. White, Sr., Aaron M. (Lisa) White, Alana J. (Tim) Plantz, grandchildren, Jamal, Jr., Kaitlyn, Alexis, Amber, Angela, Teara, Jordan Lee, Arianna, Aaron II, Charlotte, Walter Ryan and Nicholas, great grandchild, LiAngelo, and siblings, Alicia “Ann” Glover, Linda White and Priscilla White. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Bob, LaFoe, Ronnie, Jackie, Tommy, Bill, DeWayne and Joan Williams. A graveside service will be conducted for Charles at 11 A.M. Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the Clay Township Cemetery, corner of Fulkert Rd. and S. Opfer-Lentz Rd., Genoa, Ohio. Due to the pandemic conditions, no repast will be held at this time. Masks and social distancing will be required at the service. The family suggests memorials for Charles be directed to the Allen Clay Joint Fire Dist., Station #36, 101 Sixth Street, Genoa, Ohio 43430 or to the Genoa Food Pantry, P.O.
