Charles G. North Charles G. North, 92, of Harriman Tennessee, formerly Toledo, Ohio passed away June 1, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 14, 1919 in Lancaster, Ohio to Gail and Ilo (Norris) North. Charles proudly served his country in the Navy as a Seaman, first class, SV-6 during WWII where he received the Purple Heart. Charles was an avid collector of knives, cars, pens and coalman miners. He served the Lord and enjoyed sharing the word with his family and friends. He also enjoyed reading, taking special interest in the Bible and Christian Literature. Charles is survived by his loving daughters, Diana (Charles Barrett) North, Deborah (Robert) Stevens and Pam (Larry) Berger; grandchildren, Chad, Stacie, Alisha, Keri, Sherry, Kristi, Ashley, Jimmy, Angie and Lisa; twenty-four great-grandchildren; brother, Gail “Pete” (Adeline) North; sisters, Armeletta (Donald) Monroe and Betty Gray. He is preceded in death by his parents, his former wife, Ethel Marjorie North, brother, Max North and great-grandson, James Behrman. Friends will be received on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419) 874-3133 where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Chaplain Chris Roper officiating. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
