Charles L. Kanous

Kanous Charles L. Charles L. Kanous, age 80, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. Charles was born October 8, 1929 in Toledo to Clarence and Ethel Kanous. A graduate of DeVilbiss High School, Charles grew up in West Toledo where he remained to raise his own family. A Corporal in the US Army serving in the Korean War, Charles was a member of the American Legion and of Disabled American Veterans. He worked for Surface Combustion as a material handler and later as head stock clerk until retiring in 1982. Charles enjoyed traveling across the United States by motor home with his wife, Dolly, during his retirement. She was the love of his life and passed away just before they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Charles was a loving father and grandfather who was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Patricia Dolly. He is survived by his children, Mark Beth Kanous, Dawn Jeff Rozek, Tammy Gary Davis, and Alan Elizabeth Kanous; grandchildren, Nicole Davis, Marinda Martin fianc Dustin Moehler, Justin Rozek, Joshua Kanous, Jameson Kanous, Nicole Kanous, Mercedez Kanous, and Joseph Kanous; and three great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Promedica Hospice for their home care and the staff at the Ebeid Hospice Unit. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-9:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will be Friday at 1:00pm with Chaplain Gary Rader officiating.
