Charles L. Hoffmann

Charles L. Hoffmann was called to his eternal home on Saturday, January 16, 2016, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born in Perrysburg, Ohio, the son of Charles and Daisy Hoffmann of Perrysburg, Ohio. He was a high school graduate of Campion High School of Prairie Du Sheen, Wisconsin and also from the University of Detroit with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Charles married the love of his life, Sally Netz, and together moved to Lisbon, Ohio where he was appointed as Superintendent of the Sammis and Toronto power plants, retiring after 25 years, at age 60. Charles was Roman Catholic by faith and a cherished member of the community. He was an avid supporter of historic preservation and restoration and his love of country and patriotism knew no bounds. The couple shared 54 wonderful years together. They were the cherished parents of Terri Hoffmann Kent, OH, Tina (Glenn) Szatala Huron, OH., Tami (Tim) Walker Lisbon, OH., Tracey (Steve) Frederick Green Cove Springs, FL. Charles was the adored “Bop” of Laura and Alex Walker, Ashley Szatala, Sarah and Stevie Frederick and the devoted brother to David (Sharon) Hoffmann Perrysburg, OH. Calling hours will be held at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St, Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM with a scripture service at 7:00 PM. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Friday, January 22, at 10:15 AM and a funeral mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 East Front St. Perrysburg, OH.
