GEIGER CHARLES H. Photo to Come Charles H. Gieger, Charlie age 90 of Maumee passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008 surrounded by loved ones and led home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while in the privacy of his home. Charles worked 23 years for A. Bentley as a Carpenter and 18 years with Lucas County Engineers. As a WWII Veteran he served as an Air Engineer in the 8th & 9th Airforce, He is a lifetime member of the Maumee Fire Dept, the Maumee American Legion Post #320, VFW 3013 and Maumee Eagles. Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Christine Geiger and 3 daughters Leona Fazenbaker Larry, Toni Hylton Mark, and Charlene Schutte Ed. Also surviving are 9 Grandchildren, Christi Sienkiewicz Dave, Kendra Swartz Steve, Larry Charles Fazenbaker J.J., Eddie Schutte, Justin Charles Schutte, Casey Schutte, Mark Hylton, Mallory Hylton, Matthew Hylton and 7 Great-Grandchildren Nick and Katie Sienkiewicz, Brandon, Jacob and Olivia Swartz, and Tyler and Triston Fazenbaker. In addition, Charles is survived by 1 brother, Henry Geiger Mary Jane and his 2 sisters Meg Harpold, May Richardson Norman and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee on Wednesday from 2-9 PM where the Maumee Fire Department will conduct services at 7 PM followed by a Scripture Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will begin Thursday at 10 AM in the funeral home followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 AM in St. Josephs Church, Maumee. Interment St. Josephs Cemetery. The family extends a special thank you to ABC Health Care and all their staff from office, nurses, therapists and especially Cassandra Swanton, Denise and Sudie. They would also like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all their help through this difficult time and suggest any memorials in Charleies memory be to hospice.
