Charles S. Gearhart

Charles S. Gearhart, 86, of Maumee passed away on Monday May 19, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born January 15, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio to Sydney and Rose Gearhart. Charles was a veteran of both the United States Marines and Army serving in both WW II and the Korean War. He was a graduate of Libbey High School and worked in the maintenance department for the United States Postal Service. Charles enjoyed golfing, bowling and camping. His favorite teams were the Ohio State Buckeyes and New York Yankees, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Charles is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, Donald Margaret Gearhart; daughters, Christine Johnson and Cheryl Russ Wuellner, 10 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Dora Brown and Linda Blessing. Visitation for Charles will be on Thursday May 22, 2014 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio 43537. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
