Charles Fansler, 97, formerly of Maumee went to heaven on October 28, 2018. Raised in Auburn, Indiana, Charles was a member of the greatest generation, serving in the Army and assigned to the Burma Road from 1942-1945. After the war, he worked 35 years for the Stellhorn Company and later Mercy Diagnostics. A dedicated family man, he is survived by his wife of 70 years, Miriam (Oakes) Fansler; son, William (Gloria) Fansler; daughters, Susan (David) Raszka and Jody (Neal) Weiker; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild; and sister Arline Cornelius. He was a long time member of Zoar Lutheran Church. Services were private. The family suggests donations be made to Ebeid Hospice or donors choice.
