Charlie was born in Toledo, OH, on May 30, 1936, to Charles and Henrietta (Soltman) DuShane and passed peacefully at home May 10, 2016. He attended DeVilbiss High School (1954) and Toledo University. Charlie was the treasurer of the Service Products Division of Lathrop and controller of Ebony Construction. An avid movie-goer and traveler, Charlie loved Las Vegas and Steak ‘n Shake. He never met a stranger and always had a joke to share. He was a member of Ashland Church and served as former assistant treasurer. He was lucky in life to have two ladies who loved him very much….Widowed by Jackie (Rumer) DuShane, and survived by wife Joy Rabbitt Hayes DuShane. Charlie was preceded in death by his special cousin/brother Richard Thompson. He is survived by daughter, Holli and granddaughter Rachel, son, Jeffrey Charles (Rodney), stepdaughter Kimberly (Boyd) Montgomery, and grandchildren: Kayleigh, Ashlynn and Zachary. He is also survived by a multitude of loving cousins. The family wishes to thank Senior Independence Home Hospice for their guidance and support during this journey. Contributions may be made to Ashland Church Deacon’s Fund or in honor of Charlie‘s father to the Boy Scouts of America. Friends may visit Sunday May 15 from 2-6PM at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Social visitation from 10-noon Monday at Ashland Church, 2350 Starr Ave., Oregon. Funeral and internment to immediately follow.
