On Friday, April 23, 2021 Charles Michael Deiger passed away peacefully at the age of 73 surrounded by the love of his family. Charles was born on December 30, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Adele Deiger. After graduating from Bowser High School, Charles volunteered to serve his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, he devoted much of his time building a successful, family-owned company with his brothers, Leo and Tony. In his younger years, he spent time skiing and building his own home in Colorado with his wife and children. Charles also enjoyed golf and boating and never missed his children’s baseball and soccer games. Mike also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and spending time in Florida. While he had a quiet presence, his kindness and generosity spoke volumes. He spent the rest of his very full life devoting his heart and soul to his wife, Susan, and his children. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan (Babkiewicz) Deiger; daughter, Katie (Greg) Engel; son, Shane Deiger; son, Mathew Deiger; and grandchildren, Caiden, Dimitri, and Tristan. Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Marley, son Joel, and brothers, Leo and Lawrence. Visitation with precautions and social distancing, will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where scripture service and sharing of memories will be held at 6:40 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021 in St Joseph’s Church, 5411 Main Street, Sylvania. Committal services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made Disabled American Veterans Charity or the Cherry Street Mission, 1501 Monroe Street, Toledo, OH.
