Davis Charles L. Toledo Neighborhood Chucks Barber Shop for 52 years Charles L. Davis, age 92, passed away Saturday May 25, 2013 at Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek. The son of John and Ruth Davis and step mother, Jennie Davis, he was born May 10, 1921 in Fostoria, OH. He served his country during WWII from 1942-1945 when he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard. He married the love of his life, Mary Louise Reinhart on April 19, 1945. Chuck was a barber for 58 years, 52 years at his own barber shop, until retiring in 2004 at the age of 83. He was a member of Gesu Catholic Church since 1949 and was active in Gesus 50+ club, bowling league, Holy Name Society and the softball league. Chuck enjoyed cards with the Trilby Pinochle and Gesu Pinochle Clubs. He was a member of the Margaret Hunt Senior Center, American Legion 642 and Local 911 UFCW. Chuck also loved to fish, especially on Lake Erie where he once caught a 10 Pound 2 ounce 30 Walleye. However, his greatest joy was his family and will be remembered for how dearly he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Louise; children, Diane Mike Bohland, Debbie Dan Reese, Jeff Davis, Randy Laurie Davis, Dan Bernice Davis; grandchildren, Heather Bohland Matt Zuccarell, Brett and Sarah Reese, Courtney Bohland Chad Walters, Eric Janice Davis, Amanda Reese Owen Miller, Adam Margan Davis, Aaron Davis, Stephanie Davis AnthonySciara, Danielle Davis; great grandchildren, Lauren, Megan and Natalie Zuccarell, Jonas and Lillian Reese, Caylie and Allison Walters, Layla and Eric Davis Jr., Charlie Coffman and Arehanna Bondy, Reese and Blake Miller, Antonio Gonzales; sister Anna Louise Davis Abell of Fostoria, OH. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Davis of Norfolk, VA and great granddaughter, Ellie Davis. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 2-9 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd. Family will receive friends at Gesu Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 AM with Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Odyssey Hospice or Gesu 50 Plus Club. Condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
