Charles "Chuck" E. Edwards

Charles “Chuck” E. Edwards, 81, of Port Clinton, OH passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and Rose Mary. He was born on March 23, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Charles P. and Josephine A. (Rich) Edwards. On October 17, 1959 in Port Clinton, OH he married Alice Ann Slobodzian, and she preceded him in death on March 11, 2016. He lived in the same house on Fulton St. for over 60 years. Chuck previously worked for the U.S. Gypsum Co. in Gypsum, OH and Standard Products in Port Clinton before retiring on August 1, 2006. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Chuck had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, canoeing, hiking, shooting, and woodworking. Some of his favorite meals were eating walleye and perch and mac & cheese. He loved to laugh and was kind and compassionate and the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. Family was very important to him and he was always there for them. Chuck is survived by his son, Charles “Chuck” R. (Sandy) Edwards, daughter, Tami (Robert) Lamb, 6 grandchildren, Josh (Lindsey) Rees, Tami (Tim Nickoli) Edwards, Amanda Rees, Charles (Amanda) Edwards, II, Kristy (Jon) Hernandez, and Michael Cutler, 11 Great Grandchildren, sisters, Carol (Paul) Wray and JoAnne (Brian) Keenan, and companion, Rose Mary Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters, Donna Magee and Barb Hopkins. Funeral services for Chuck will be celebrated by Father Jonathan Wight at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 4, 2021 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, with visitation one hour prior from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Venice Cemetery, 1109 Lima Sandusky Rd., Sandusky, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Chuck can be given to the Cleveland Clinic, Sandusky location or Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
