Charles Burns

Charles Burns was called home by the Lord and his mother Louise Hedge on February 22, 2008. Charles and his family owned and operated Ma Chere Beauty Salon and Charles for Hair in Toledo for 45 years. Charles and Shirley retired in 2000 and moved to Port St Lucie, Florida to enjoy the year-round warm weather and of course the golf. Charles is survived by his wife and work partner of 53 years, Shirley; step father, James Garnett Hedge; daughters, Cindy Joe Mehling and Kelly Andre Antoine; and the love of his life - his grandchildren, Nichole Tracy, Joey, AJ or Ace, Lance, Alexandra and a special extended family of Ken and Cathy Rowe and their children Ron, Cindy, Kim, Cheri, Kenny and their families. Charles always said there were two things important in life, Family and Work. The family feels comfort in the idea that Charles is beside his mother Louise and Aunt Sue Totty and they are doing hair in a better place and we are sure their appointment book is full. There will be a celebration of his life at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. on Friday Feb 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with a short service at 6:30 PM.
