Charles Arthur Brough, 75, of Bay Township, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 05, 2014. He was born on July 01, 1939, the son of Burnett and Agnes (Lattimore) Brough. He graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1957. On June 25, 1960, he married Violet Skinner and she survives. Charlie was the last remaining charter member of the Bay Township Volunteer Fire Department that began in 1968. He was a former fire chief, township trustee and fair board member. Charlie was an avid farmer that passed knowledge and skills on to his children and grandchildren. He loved his family dearly. He also enjoyed hunting, sprint car races and traveling. Those who knew him will miss him dearly. Survivors include: Loving Wife: Violet Brough; Daughters: Julie (Ken) Reinhart of Alvada, Amie Kirian of Galion and Jackie (Andy) Haar of Elmore; 8 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren; Brothers: Frank (Ann) of Florida, Raymond (Vicki) and Daniel (Kristy); Sister: JoAn (Ron) Monnett all of Port Clinton. Charlie was preceded in death by his two sons: John and Lou, his parents and his brother: Nelson. Visitation will be from 2-8pm, Tuesday, October 07, 2014 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am, Wednesday, October 08, 2014 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Charlie may be given to Bay Township Fire Dept or Stein Hospice.
