Charles W. Battista, 76, passed away October 1, 2012, at Regency Hospital. His loving wife of 51 years, Caroline at his side. Charles was born on March 21, 1936, in Bellevue, Ohio. Charles is survived by his wife, Caroline; sons, Charles Jr. and Richard (Tammy) Battista; daughters, Linda (James) Sass and Alice (James) White; sister, Lois (Dennis) Hughes; 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his son, Thomas; parents, Carl and Alice, and brother, Richard Battista. Charles was Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus # 11450, a 4th degree member of the DeSoto Assembly, a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church for 50 years, where he loved Bingo, festivals, feather parties, and other events. He was in the National Guard 37 Division and in the Army M.P. Unit. He was a life time member of the National Rifle Association. Charles worked at Machinery Builders for 25 years. He retired from Brush Wellman after 17 years. Visitation will be held Friday, October 5, 2012, from 2:00-9:00 p.m. with a K of C Rosary at 7:30. On Saturday, October 6, 2012, Charles will lie Instate at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Walbridge at 9:00 a.m., service will begin at 10:00 a.m., and interment will follow immediately after at Restlawn Memorial Park. A wake service will take place after interment at St. Jerome Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church Seboria Fund.
