Chad Bailiff

Surrounded by his loving family, Chad Jeffrey Bailiff passed away on July 17, 2024. Chad was born to John and Linda (Dunderman) Bailiff on July 8, 1973, in Toledo, Ohio, and was the youngest of two children.

Chad was a 1995 graduate of Rogers High School. He worked at Sunshine’s .ORG for nearly 19 years, and previously at Timko’s, Lott Industries, and Food Town.

He was a wonderful, people-loving guy. Anyone who met him will remember his greeting, “Hi, buddy!”, followed by “What’s your name?”, “When’s your birthday?”, “What high school did you go to?”, and sometimes a knock-knock joke or two. If he already knew you, it might be “How you been?” or “What time did you get up?” He loved his church family at Faith United Lutheran, where he ushered and greeted everyone, and was proud to be in charge of recycling. He made friends at all of his favorite places: Sidelines, American Table in Lambertville, JoJo’s (Jackie), Twin Oaks Bowling Center, and Miracle Lanes (Jim).

For years, he carried a camera wherever he went, taking snapshots of life around him. He also rooted for OSU and Cleveland teams, loved bowling, adored listening to music, and enjoyed singing along to his favorite songs.

Thanks to everyone who knew and loved him, including Lon and Shelly; Dan and Jean; Jeff and Kelly; Jeff and Sharon; Lonnie, Justina and special “niece,” Rose; and all of his buddies at .ORG, especially Randy.

Many thanks to everyone who cared for Chad at The Manor at Perrysburg, especially Kelly and Mindy.

Left to cherish his memory are parents John and Linda Bailiff; sister Jessica (Mathew) Sweet; uncle Bill (Sharon) Bailiff; aunt Nancy (Doug) May; aunt Nancy Borsani; uncle Dan (Missy) Dunderman; and many cousins. He was predeceased by grandmother Hilda Billeau; grandfather Bill (Rose) Bailiff; grandparents Skip and Betty Dunderman; uncle Tom Bailiff; and aunt Sandy (Mike) Mitchell.

Friends and family may be received on Wednesday, July 24, from 12:00pm to 8:00pm at Walker Funeral Home - Sylvania; 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. Toledo, Ohio 43623. A funeral ceremony will take place at 10:30am on Thursday, July 25, at Faith United Lutheran Church; 4543 Douglas Rd. Toledo, Ohio 43613. Interment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park will follow the funeral service. The family suggests donations in his name be made to Faith United or Sunshine.
