Cathy A. Dawson

Cathy Ann Dawson, 70, of Columbus, Ohio and formerly of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 5, 1951, the daughter of the late Warren and Thecla (Nitschke) Morgan.

She was a 1969 graduate of Port Clinton High School, and was the Valedictorian of her class. She was the captain of the Synchronized Swimming Club in High School and a lifeguard at the Port Clinton Yacht Club.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Dennison University in 1973. She later went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Physiology from The Ohio State University. She worked as a sales rep for Astra Pharmaceuticals for many years.

She was married to Lee Thomas until their divorce. She then met and married Rick Dawson and together they owned and operated a printing company called Network Printing and Graphics in Columbus for many years until he passed away. She was married to Heinrich “Lucky” Brookhart until his death.

Cathy was a tireless, meticulous, ingenious worker and technician at the printing company for many years. In the summers, she loved spending long weekends on her boat at the Yacht Club or other marinas.

She is survived by her fiancé, John Guggliemotto, Columbus, Ohio; sister, Pat Elsholz, Oxford, Michigan; and brothers, Jeffrey (Carol) Morgan and Richard (Jeanne) Morgan, both of Port Clinton, Ohio.

Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-WalkerFuneral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from Noon-1:30 pm, followed by a Graveside Service at Riverview Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Columbus, Ohio.
