Catherine Jo Romstadt

Catherine Jo "Cathy" Romstadt, age 63, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on April 30, 2026.

Cathy was born on May 4, 1962, in Oregon, Ohio, to Jack and Rosemary (Luce) Frost. She graduated from Oregon-Clay High School. She continued her education at Owens Community College, where she studied Surgical Technology.

Cathy dedicated her entire career to caring for others as a surgical technologist at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio-the same community where she was born and raised. Her commitment to her work and her compassion for patients and colleagues alike left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Outside of her profession, Cathy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved sitting outside, taking walks, and appreciating nature. She cherished time spent with her family, whether it was sharing meals, watching her favorite shows like Ancient Aliens and Star Trek, or dining out at her favorite local restaurants, El Camino and Cousino's.

Cathy is survived by her loving daughter, Jada Hockin; her grandchildren, Terry Tummel, Taya Tummel, Tyler Tummel, Tayne Tummel, and Tycen Tummel; her great-grandchildren, Reese and Sophia Tummel; and her sister, Roseann Easterling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Rosemary Frost; her brother, Jack Frost Jr.; her husband, Daniel Romstadt; and many other beloved family members.

A celebration of Cathy's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
