Catherine A. Rawlings

Rawlings Catherine Adeline LaPlant Catherine Adeline LaPlant Rawlings, age 95, passed away peacefully December 17, 2010 at Sunset Village in Sylvania. She was born May 27, 1915 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank LaPlant and Margaret Fetzer, both deceased. Kate married Harry A. Rawlings on January 3, 1936. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1960. Kate and Harry had one daughter, Kathy. Kathy preceded her mother in death on September 15, 2010. Kathy was married to William Bill Shock who also preceded her in death December 2, 2010. Kate is survived by her two lovely granddaughters, Tricia N. Daniel Wedding of Toledo and Steffany A. Shock of State College, PA; two great grandchildren, Daniel and Carol Ann Wedding; sisters, Evelyn Seguin of Toledo and Florence Larry McFadden of Toledo; and many nieces and nephews. Kate was a 1929 Graduate of Woodward High School and a lifelong member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Kate loved sewing and being with her granddaughters and great grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Catherine Rawlings and Bill Shock will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 4441 Monroe St. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11:00AM. Visitation at the church will begin one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Kates memory to St. Pauls Lutheran Church Radio Ministries.
