Catherine Postel

Catherine J. Postel, 93, passed away Sunday in Toledo, Ohio. She was a native of Bergholz, Ohio and over the years resided in Ohio cities including Canton, Avon Lake, Akron and Upper Arlington as well as in Louisville, Kentucky. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Diebold Safe and Vault Company in Canton, was a student at the Cleveland Institute of Music and was active in the Canton MacDowell Musical Arts Club and the Professional Engineers Auxiliary. She was married to Carl Elwood Postel, a mechanical engineer at Goodyear Aerospace, from 1951 until the time of his death in 2004. Above all, she was the finest wife and mother one could hope for. Survivors include her son, Gregory C. Postel, MD, his wife Sally and their twin sons Christopher and Alexander of Louisville, Kentucky; a sister, Shirley Stamm of Louisville, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Marian Scott of San Antonio, Texas; a niece, Veronica Postel of Phoenix, Arizona and nephews Douglas Stamm, Brian Stamm, David Rood, Clifford Scott, MD and Andrew Scott. A memorial service will be planned for the spring at a date to be announced in Canton, Ohio.
