Catherine Miller

CATHERINE MILLER Catherine Miller, 95, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully from this life, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in her red shingled house that she loved so much. Born December 3, 1922 near Lime City, she was a life-long Perrysburg resident and the eldest child of Raymond & Mary (Boellner) Armbruster both descendants of pioneer families of the Perrysburg and Maumee area. Growing up, Kate was active in 4-H and won numerous awards including a trip to the National 4-H Congress in Chicago. She graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1940 and then from Sayers Beauty College. She had many occupations in her lifetime including, beautician, seamstress, stay-at-home mom, and, above all, cook. Following in her mother’s footsteps she became the second manager of St. Rose School cafeteria, a position she held for 32 years, becoming a familiar face to generations of St. Rose School children before retiring. Kate married Robert F. Miller on May 8, 1943 in St. Rose Church. He passed away in 1997. Together they had eight loving children, all of whom survive, Diana Berry, Ronald (Judith) Miller, Roberta Reynolds, Karen (Larry) Hummel, Sharon Seitz-Dennis, Daniel (Melanie) Miller, Tim (Tina West) Miller, Kass Miller (Beth Merrin). Survivors also include a multitude of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several honorary children and grandchildren. Kate is also survived by her sister, Margaret (Thomas) Langevin; brother-in-law, Philip (Jean) Miller and numerous nieces, nephews and Boellner cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and their wives, Edwin (Frances) and Robert (Joyce) Armbruster, sons-in-law, Dave Adamski, Jay Dennis, and Bob Reynolds; grandchildren, Gale and Jon, granddaughter-in-law, Liz Miller and many Miller family in-laws. Friends will be received Friday, April 6, 2018 from 3-8 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) with a Prayer Service being recited at 7 P.M. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home, Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 9:45 A.M. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 A.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church 215 E. Front St. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Burial will follow in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank Kass and Beth for their loving care of Mom for so many years. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Catherine’s memory be made to St. Rose Parish, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
