Catherine A. Carstensen, 36, of Clay Center, Ohio, died Saturday, July 3, 2021 at McLaren-St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, Ohio after a long illness. She was born in Oregon, Ohio on September 8, 1984 to Robert L. and Carol A. (Wepler) Carstensen. Catherine graduated from Genoa High School in 2002 and attended Owens Community College. Catherine was a very intelligent person. She was an avid reader and crafter, creating many unique pieces of jewelry and sewing beautiful doll clothing. She enjoyed working on models and attending BotCon conventions around the country. In 2003 Catherine was blessed with a trip to London through the Make-a-wish foundation, where she toured many sites, including her favorite; museums. Catherine enjoyed learning and had been studying the Jehovah Witness religion for some time, hoping to become a member in the near future. Catherine is survived by her parents, Robert & Carol, half-brothers, Vance V. Recker, Quinn A. Recker, Robert L. Carstensen and Randy J. Carstensen, very special friends, Linda Fiore and nurse Amy Kruse. The family of Catherine would like to extend a special thank you to all of those who helped her throughout her illness, especially the Allen-Clay J.F.D. who always showed up to help when needed most. There are no service currently, but a memorial service is being planned for sometime in the future. Memorial contributions for Catherine may be made to the Donor’s choice.
